Belconnen Skate Park
Belconnen Skate Park is a skate park located in Belconnen, Canberra. The skate park is free and open to the public for use. It was built with the help of donations from local businesses and individuals as well as funds from the ACT Government.
The Belconnen Skate Park has been around since 2002, and it sees about 300 people every week. When it reopened in 2011, the Skate Park on Emu Bank had Australia's largest skate park. It now has a variety of features to cater for skaters of all skill levels and is great place for teens (and kids) to hang out.
The Belconnen Skate Park offers plenty of features to cater for all abilities including ramps, rails, ledges, bowls and stairs. Younger skaters can practice on footpaths that are free-of-charge while there are also more advanced areas where bigger kids show off their skills!
There’s always something happening at the skate park — groups come together to share tricks or just hang out like friends do everywhere else! It has convenient restrooms, food shops and parking nearby and it's close to thWestfield Belconnen.
The regular, more experienced kids at the park are always keeping an eye on the new kids and giving out tips. There's also a session on Saturdays for kids who want to learn more.
It is open from dawn until dusk seven days a week, which makes sure everyone can skate regardless of the weather or time of day! The best thing is that you don't have to pay an entry fee – all you need are skates.
Kids at the park love sharing tricks with each other because they're always trying new things out; there's nothing like seeing someone try something for the first time.
You'll know when they've done something cool by watching their face light up as they do it again and again.
